Electronics is a branch of science and technology that deals with the flow of electrons through nonmetallic conductors, mainly semiconductors such as silicon. It is distinct from electrical science and technology, which deal with the flow of electrons and other charge carriers through metal conductors such as copper. This distinction started around 1906 with the invention by Lee De Forest of the triode. Until 1950 this field was called "radio technology" because its principal application was the design and theory of radio transmitters, receivers and vacuum tubes. The study of semiconductor devices and related technology is considered a branch of physics, whereas the design and construction of electronic circuits to solve practical problems come under electronics engineering. This article focuses on engineering aspects of electronics. From Wikipedia under the

My pops replaced an alternator for my Nissan Altima ('2001 GXE) yesterday and forgot to disconnect my battery before starting the procedure. Now the car electronics are dead. The car runs when I turn the ignition and drives alright (though the engine block vibrates alot more than we started. . . probably because the tensioner is not set to the correct length), but the dashboard, horn etc etc do not work. Does this mean that I just need to replace my fuses? Or is there more damage done than before installing the alternator? I am going to go to the parts store later today. Please advise. My father and I looked into the car yesterday and found that it wasn't the Fuse box right next to the battery that was dead, it was the Fuse-able box that… [cont.] Asked by indiantrumpet - Mon Jul 9 20:07:58 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. only way of telling is to check it out look at all your fuses you can try an reset everything by disconnecting -ground cable for a few minutes Answered by Robert N - Mon Jul 9 21:51:24 2007 What electronics are needed to make a RC plane? Q. Hey i was wondering what electronics are needed to get a RC electric plane up and running as far as the servos and receivers and stuff. I just have no idea what i need to get my plane running. Thanks in advance. Asked by bulletproofcracka - Fri Jun 20 21:29:26 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. It varies on the plane. But hobby-grade wise... my plane needs a motor, 3 servos, 1 receiver. Of course, you also need the airplane kit itself. Pretty simple. Other planes should be very similar to this. Oh yes, you also need the battery. Q. She already has a cell phone, Ipod and a digital camera and she doesn't know what she wants and she wants electronics. If you know anything please tell me. Asked by Angela M - Mon Dec 8 13:59:48 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well, there are a lot of cool video games that you might consider. Don't get me wrong, video games are not just for boys. I bet she will love a Wii. I bought one for my younger siblings and they LOVE it! There are sooo many neutral games that aren't just targeted towards guys, for example all Mario and Sonic games are good picks. Although most videogame platforms are a little pricey, you may want to consider getting your daughter a hand held device like a Nintendo DS or PSP, they're usually a little less expenseive, but offer the same amount of fun! :) If your daughter isn't into video games, try some DVD's that she might like. Or maybe an upgrade from the electronics that she already has... But must it be electronics that you get your… [cont.] Answered by Cynthia - Mon Dec 8 14:23:56 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Electronics"
