Does a cordless home telephone exists that incorporates multiple cell phones via bluetooth?
Q. I do not think it exists yet (though Panasonic has come close), but perhaps I am wrong. I was looking to see if a cordless home telephone yet existed that allowed not only a landline connection for regular telephone use, but also bluetooth connections simultaneously to multiple cellular telephones. From a practical standpoint, this would allow a home telephone, and also allow family members to leave their cell phones (likely near the base I would assume) and also allow their cellular telephones to ring on the house telephone. Also--I do imagine this exists with business systems, that are likely very expensive. My question is really whether residential versions have been developed yet.

What is the case for and against cordless headsets for home-based customer service agents?

What is the best cordless electric fillet knife?
Q. I want to get my dad a cordless electric fillet knife for his birthday. We go freshwater fishing about once a month and catch mostly trout and bass, and it's never more than a cooler full. Basically, this knife will get used regularly, but it most likely won't be beat up by huge fish or a large quantity of fish. I just want to give him something that makes the filleting process super easy. What is the best one for him to try?

How to recover my cordless drill that I dropped in 24 feet of water?
Q. I dropped my cordless drill in the lake and I would like to get it out and see if I can fix it. I don't want to hire a diver or anything. Any ideas on a cheap way to get it. I know where it is within a couple foot radius. The drill housing is plastic, so I am afraid that a magnet won't work.

can i use a cordless DECT phone on a digital phone line?
Q. I've just purchased a Panasonic DECT cordless phone set for my boss, however the person before her in her office had a digital phone line installed. We've had to get an adapter for a polycom device in there because polycom is compliant with analog lines. Now I've tried two of the same phone, and can't get a dial tone. Is the phone broken or is it not compatible with the line?

A. Most consumer DECT 6.0 phones are Analog input/output connection to the PSTN telephone network. So, they will work anywhere any standard analog corded phone will work. If the line you are connecting too is Digital, then an Analog interface is not compatible with Digital interfaces.

How much radiation do the base stations for cordless phones emit?
Q. On average, what level of radiation does the base station of a cordless phone constantly emit, and is it harmful enough to do any damage? Would someone who had a cordless phone base station on their home or work desk for several years accumulate cell and brain damage of any sort? No curtly, one word responses please.

A. None, zip, not a problem what so ever. In the first place, it is in a stand-by receive mode and is not transmitting. It just sits there waiting for the proper encoded input signal to open it's squelch circuit, so it can receive the signal from the correct hand set. It then sends a very low level RF signal back to the remote hand set to complete the duplex path. When a land line signal comes in, it turns on the same xmitter signal and calls the hand set. In either case, the very low level (that's why it won't work over much of a range, if you take the hand set out side and start walking down the street with it) RF signal that it emits and at the frequency it works on, gives less "radiation" then you can get walking on the sand of a beach in… [cont.]

A. take a second and check that you have plugged everything up correctly, then take a second to read over the directions. What do the megahertz and gigahertz mean when referring to cordless phones?
Q. My wife and I are looking at getting a new cordless phone. We want a good one, but we're unfamiliar with the meaning behind mega/gigahertz. I know it's a measurement of power, but what does it get you by having more? Is it more range, clearer signal, both, or something else? Also, what are the advantages of digital cordless phones?

A. Mega- (1,000,000 Hertz) or giga- (1,000,000,000 Hertz) hertz refers to the frequency at which the signal is transmitted. Generally speaking, the higher the frequency the weaker the signal, however, factors such as what walls the signal would need to travel through and what the wall is made from as well as where the base of your phone unit is located. If you use wireless Internet or similar technologies, there is a greater chance of interference with gigahertz phones. Gigahertz phones can be more useful in a large company or building as they are better suited for cordless phone systems with multi-handsets, which allow for features like call transferring and forwarding, but they are more expensive. What's the furthest I should put a cordless phone from a wireless router?
Q. I have a cordless phone about 5 inches away from my wireless router. I know that they say not to put phones close to wireless routers because of the interference you may experience. However I am still getting a fast connection with the wireless network. What can be some problems you would see by having a phone too close to a router? Sometimes I will get a real slow connection, but all I have to do is restart my modem and the connection is back up to full speed. Also I am having Strict NAT setting problems on my 360. Can any of these be caused from the phone being too close?

A. My WiFi connection was obliterated by my cordless phone, until I changed the channel that my router used for WiFi. If you are getting some interference try each of the different channels for your WiFi, that may fix your issue.

A. Actually, I'd recommend a DECT 6.0 phone. The 6.0 isn't a frequency but rather a standard that had been adopted in Europe some time ago but has just come to the US within the last couple of months. It runs on a new frequency band of 1.9GHz and what makes it different is that it's completely digital, it's completely interference free and it's allocated more power to be used which results in better range. Every DECT phone utilizes frequency sharing techniques which not only checks for the clearest channel, but can tell when other phones/devices are using a channel with a "listen before transmit" feature built into every DECT phone. There are no analog phones or non-DECT 6.0 phones allowed on this new frequency band which makes it the… [cont.]

What is the best cordless phone to use with Skype?
Q. I need to use Skype for business purposes -- at home -- and I'm trying to determine the best brand of cordless phone to use that will utilize the service. I tried the Phillips model (Philips VOIP321 - Duo) and it is a piece of garbage. Skype won't refund my $ and neither will Philips but that is a who 'nother story... Thanks for your help!

Has anyone used a cordless roof nailer?
Q. I plan on installing a new roof this spring and wonder if anyone has an experience using a cordless roof nailer. If so, what was your experience with it? Can it be used to nail the entire roof? How easy was it and what brand did you use?
