A. the person before me did a pretty good job of explaining the symptoms...but i just wanted to add that you should NEVER take an infected piercing out without the advice of a professoinal! when i got my belly button pierced they told me that doing so could lock the infection into your body, making it really hard to treat and possibly much more harmful for your tissues and organs nearby. the same thing goes for facial and even ear piercings. if you must take it out to clean it, be SURE to put it right back in! but only take it out following professional recommendation!

I'm sure it depends mostly on what kind of job you wish to get, for example medical professions would probably advise you to take them out due to hygienic purposes and if you take a job where you're dealing with food etc. Although I'm not much a fan of facial piercings I do like Monroe's and have expressed a desire to get one myself. What is the Monroe piercing supposed to touch inside your mouth?
Q. I just recently had the monroe piercing done yesterday and I'm not quite sure if he pierced it correctly. The side of the flat back part is rubbing against my tooth. I'm not sure if its caused by the swelling or if its because he didn't pierce it right. It also gets caught under my tooth when I take big bites of food. I called them, but they said it was probably just the swelling and that it was normal. I tend to freak out a lot about nothing. Does anyone have any idea if this is normal?

A. you will find that once the piercing has healed you can change the jewellery for a shorter bar (ideally a plastic one so that the enamel on your teeth isn't damaged from friction), and because you'll be used to having the piercing you won't even feel it OR catch it on your teeth - you are just suffering the normal experience of a new piercing around the mouth.

A. depends exactly where you have your ears pierced. cartilage hurts the most and a monroe is nothing compared to that. lip piercings dont hurt that much. belly buttons hurt worse, and nost piercings, the stud kinds dont hurt that much but septums do.tattoos are totally different than piercings, so i cant compare. but it def. didn't hurt at all i could hardly feel it.
