How should a Monroe piercing look after 3 weeks of having it done?
Q. I got a Monroe piercing about 3 weeks ago. It still a little swollen and red.But my main concern is that right under the ball of the jewelry the skin is swollen, red and it is white,no puss is coming out its just water once in a while.Im cleaning it and still doing the salt soaks.Is this normal?

A. Stop the salt soaks for now, that will be causing the red and puffiness, use a different type of piercing cleaner on it that has less harsh affect, you might experience almost like a yellow crust for several weeks due to your skin trying to "purge" the in-perfection from your body.

A. i wouldnt do it for more than a few hours, my girl has the same problem at work when she has to take it out, so i would say where a retainer instead of completely removing it.

Q. Yesterday evening I got a monroe piercing. It doesn't hurt any, but It's redish-pink around the stud. Is it supposed to be this color when you first get them done? A. They should have given you a couple of things to clean it with. One would be a purified sea water spray. Sea salt water is the best for cleaning new piercings because of the minerals and enzymes. They speed up the healing process and get rid of any of the nasty stuff that builds up around the piercing. The other thing would be Provon soap. It's the best for cleaning out bacteria. I'm sure if you went to another piercer they would sell you some of their cleaners. It's bad that your piercer didn't show you cleaning products. A. I'm not a huge fan of facial piercings, and I can understand your worry about what employers may think if you get two done and try and apply for a job. I'm sure it depends mostly on what kind of job you wish to get, for example medical professions would probably advise you to take them out due to hygienic purposes and if you take a job where you're dealing with food etc. Although I'm not much a fan of facial piercings I do like Monroe's and have expressed a desire to get one myself. Q. I just recently had the monroe piercing done yesterday and I'm not quite sure if he pierced it correctly. The side of the flat back part is rubbing against my tooth. I'm not sure if its caused by the swelling or if its because he didn't pierce it right. It also gets caught under my tooth when I take big bites of food. I called them, but they said it was probably just the swelling and that it was normal. I tend to freak out a lot about nothing. Does anyone have any idea if this is normal?

A. you will find that once the piercing has healed you can change the jewellery for a shorter bar (ideally a plastic one so that the enamel on your teeth isn't damaged from friction), and because you'll be used to having the piercing you won't even feel it OR catch it on your teeth - you are just suffering the normal experience of a new piercing around the mouth.

A. I don't think it really makes a difference. Whenever I see a monroe on a girl now though, I think of them as easy...I don't know why. I mean, it's attractive, but in it's own way I suppose. I don't know if easy is the right word, but that's just my opinion. Probably because all the girl's I've known with them drink and have sex a lot. You probably weren't expecting this kind of answer lol but it all really depends on the girl, some look good with and some without. I think it's sexy personally.
