A. TWO :-) Just in case it was a trick math question. If this is a standard residential single-line phone, it needs 2 or 3 wires, depending on how the ringer works. You only need 2 wires for dial tone. So, a standard RJ-11 or RJ-14 jack (using 2 or 4 wires in a 6-pin carrier) can be extended with standard 4-conductor base cord. Six conductor (RJ-25) will also work. Carl
