What cell phones out there cost the same even in the middle of a plan?
Q. I have sprint and I found out the razor costs about $100 in the beginning of a plan but $300 in the middle of a plan. What cell phones just cost the same in the middle of a plan (no price limit)? I'm planning on buying a new cell phone but I'm in the middle of my 2-year plan, so I want a phone that will cost the same so I'm not really at a disadvantage.

How harmful are cell phones to the brain and the human body?
Q. You read about all the magnetic waves that cell phones radiate, and how it is bad for your body (especially your brain.) But what are the worst case scenarios for using a cell phone for a long period of time? Do you get cancer? Less intelligent? Also, is it true that the lower the battery of the cell phone, the more radiation it emits? One final question, is it harmful to keep your cell phone next to your testicles/penis (scientific terms I'm using)? Thanks.
Asked by GooGles - Tue Nov 18 16:18:48 2008 - - 1 Answers - 2 Comments
A. After years of observation and argument, nobody has come up with proof that cell phones are dangerous to health, but it is reasonable to limit the exposure in children, whose brains are still developing. They really don't need to be on the phone all the time anyway. A low battery does not increase the radiation. However, the further you are from the base station, the greater the radiation. this is because the phone senses that reception is weak, and increases its own output to ensure good contact

How to switch phones with Verizon without paying an outrageous amount for it?
Q. Verizon is expensive. I got a palm centro. It sucks. No one told me that i would have extra fees for having a PDA. So now instead of my phone bill being $90 its $190. I want to change phones but can only get another one for full retail price. Where can i buy a phone that will work with Verizon? A reliable website perhaps? Or a store other than Verizon?
Asked by txtcrazy - Tue Jul 7 17:40:07 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I would go to a Verizon store and have them go over your bill with you completely... If you are still within the first 30 days they have their satisfaction guarantee. They should be able to help you figure out your bill and get it into a reasonable range. I know some of the electronics stores (Car Toys around me) is constantly offering "new contract" pricing well before you are eligible through the carriers. But again Verizon should be able to help you get you bill a little closer to the $100 - $130 range.

How much is it to switch cell phones during a contract with all of the fees?
Q. I purchased a cell phone from the Verizon network in June 2008 and it really isn't working out for me. I want to purchase a new phone and I have looked on eBay, Amazon (etc.) and I feel the prices are too high. I was wondering if it would just be less money to just purchase a phone at the actual Verizon store with the fees of switching phones in the middle of a contract.

A. If you purchase a new phone from verizon you will end up paying full price. If you purchase it from ebay or amazon or anywhere else make sure it is unlocked so you will be able to use your sim card.

Q. I've been trying to do my homework, and unfortunately the cell phones that look really cool with the best features are not usable where I live. verizon seems to have the coolest, with T-mobile next. A. Looks aren't everything when it comes to phones; you need to look at functionality and whether or not the phone will do what you need it to. In regards to coverage the problem is that in order to avoid any wireless company from becoming a monopoly the FCC will not allow any carrier in the USA have coverage everywhere so all the carriers will have areas where they are stronger and weaker; the key is to look at who has the best coverage for the are you are in and where you will be using the phone then start looking at phones and rate plans. You can also do what many people have started doing which is to buy the phone they want unlocked to use on the carrier of their choice. What are good cell phones that allow you to use the phone as a modem on your pc?
Q. I have the LG Fusic from Sprint right now but we are about to be done with Sprint. We are basically going to choose our next cell phone carrier based on the phone we can get. Having the phone as a modem is the most important feature to us. But trying to figure out what all phones have that feature is like pulling teeth! Every carrier calls it something different, and I'm not sure if certain things mean what I think they mean so on and so forth.

A. its all the same.. internet tethering you wont find this info on carriers sites because they are the ones paying for data, and this really drops the bomb on tethering. so youll have to look through cell phone forums for the answer.

What cordless phones work properly with a digital phone line?
Q. We have just subscribed to digital phone service but now our caller id/call display won't work. When I looked it up on the manufacturers website (Phillips) it says these phones won't work with a digital provider. Any suggestions for which phones do work completely with a digital line? Thanks! Yes, I made sure we have caller ID service... and these phones are "digital" but like you said, it musn't be a guarantee as it just doesn't work on them.

A. Doesn't work. Don't bother trying it. And don't believe everything you see on YouTube. True, mobile phones do emit small amounts of radiation, but even if you multiplied this by a factor of several thousand, you would have nowhere near enough energy to pop the corn.
