From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The telephone (from the Greek: τῆλε, tēle, "far" and φωνή, phōnē, "voice") is a telecommunications device that transmits and receives sound, most commonly the human voice. It is one of the most common household appliances in the developed world, and has long been considered indispensable to business, industry and government. The word "telephone" has been adapted to many languages and is widely recognized around the world. The device operates principally by converting sound waves into electrical signals, and electrical signals into sound waves. Such signals when conveyed through telephone networks — and often converted to electronic and/or optical signals — enable nearly every telephone user to communicate with nearly every other worldwide. Graphic symbols used to designate telephone service or phone-related information in print, signage, and other media include ℡(U+2121), ☎(U+260E), ☏(U+260F), and ✆(U+2706). From Wikipedia under the

I wanna know how to straighten those coiled wires that come on the the corded telephones that are kinda like springs. dont answer telling me not to do it, i just wanna know how. Take the telephone off the hook and work out what way the cord is twisted and turn the whole handset (the hand bit, not the telephone itself) around in the other direction. Keep doing it until the cord is untwisted. If the cord looks more twisted than ever, you've gone in the wrong direction, so go in the other direction. Then once you're done, hang up again. It works every time, trust me! You just have to detangle it once in a while :) Answered by Clare - Sun Mar 23 20:30:07 2008 Do you think it's okay to let volunteers answer telephones in hospital wards? Q. What roles do you think volunteers should play in hospitals? Should they be giving people cuppa's, running kiosks, filing patients blood results in their medical records or answering telephones in hospital wards? Should they be doing any of these things or none? What other roles do you think they should or shouldn't be doing? Asked by Melikemore - Sun Jun 21 09:10:30 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. volunteers are just that , to do jobs not do medical filing patients blood results it's really about raising funds and maybe doing things like bringing the paper around or working in kiosk , never the phone as that is personal , must be strickily speaking nothing personal ,There are paid personal for those things Answered by FREDO FROG - Sun Jun 21 09:18:23 2009 Where can I get a user manual for the iDECT X1i telephones?
