Can I use a wireless USB network adapter for XBox live?
Q. I want to get wireless Xbox Live for my Xbox. I was wondering if I could use a wireless USB network adapter instead of the Xbox Wireless thing. It would be way cheaper but I don't want to waste money on something that wouldn't work.

A. sorry bro, i saw some posts saying you can but you can't i tried. all xbox stuff have its own microsoft signature, like with the hard drive you can't just replace the 60gb with a 120gb hard drive you need to hack the darn thing, and the memory module is basically a USB thumb drive and can't hard wire one coz there is a microsoft signature on it so it won't recognize any usb drive. best way to do if the router is too far you can share the internet connection if you have a wireless PC near by

USB to Xbox Adapter?
Q. Hi, I created a Xbox to USB adapter, and with drivers, it works great, with the remaining parts of the adapter, i try to create a USB to Xbox but it only works when i put my newly created Xbox to USB converter in, so i know it works, but when i try to put any other joystick in, i get no response, is there some sort of driver i need to install on my xbox before i am able to use a "logitech" with my Xbox?

would a wireless usb adapter for wireless internet work for xbox 360?
Q. I have an xbox 360 and want to get xbox live but dont want to pay 100 dollars for a wireless adapter sold specifically for xbox and I dont want to run a cable across my house either so I was wondering if a normal usb adapter for computer would work because they are much cheaper.
Asked by John D - Sun May 24 12:12:58 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No. The one they sell comes with the firmware/software that works specifically with the Xbox. I keep my modem behind my TV so that I can have all my systems hard wired and broadcast wireless to the rest of the house.

Will the PS2 Guitar Hero controller work on the PC or Xbox 360 versions if I buy a USB adapter?
Q. I've got a Guitar Hero controller for the PS2. I was wondering if it would work on the PC if I bought a USB adapter for it (you can buy USB adapters to use PS2 Dual Shock controllers on the PC). And if that worked, would it also work on the Xbox 360?
Asked by reddragon105 - Wed Jan 2 19:41:01 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I have used the PS2 guitar on the game 'Frets of fire', on the PC via the USB/PS2 adapter. Frets of fire is the freeware game that is similar to Guitar Hero. Whether or not its going to work for the PC version of GH3 is another matter since they are, apparently bundling the old 360 GH2 Explorer guitar with GH3 on the PC. I would think there's a good chance it will work though. They must realise that people with PS2's and PC's have the game and don't need another guitar. Fingers crossed.

Can I use any wireless USB adapter with my xbox 360?
Q. I recently purchased a 360 but not a wireless adapter. I have a wireless signal throughout my house and can connect from anywhere. I don't want to spend 80+Euro on an official adapter, so can i use just a normal wireless USB adapter?
Asked by tillyjr - Sun Dec 28 12:31:56 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Unfortunately, you can only use the genuine one from microsoft ($99 USD) or I've seen a thrid party one for about $80 USD, however I haven't tried that third party brand and I'm not sure if it works correctly. One option is to look for one at ebay, I bought mine there for about $60 USD, since you mention Euro I'm not sure of your location or what option you may have, hope this helps.

Would a USB Gigabit Network Adapter be compatible with the Xbox 360 in giving gigabit-network speeds?
Q. Would a USB Gigabit Network Adapter be compatible with the Xbox 360 in giving gigabit-network speeds to Xbox Live by using a cat6 or cate5 ethernet cable; even though the Xbox 360 can only support 10/100 network speeds? Or are USB network adapters only compatible with Windows-based PCs? Best answer will be acknowledged and rewarded.
Asked by Jason - Mon Jul 6 14:28:37 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This will not speed up Xbox Live. Your a stuck with the speed of your internet connection. Residental is usually from 1MB to 15MB. So a gig network wont help.

Do the USB Controller to XBOX Adapters work?
Q. To be perfectly clear, I am not asking about XBOX to USB (PC) adapters. I would like to use my PC controller (Logitech Dual Action) on my XBOX. There are adapters for this, and as far as I know, the controller doesn't require special drivers to function. It's plug and play on the PC. Would it work?

A. I havent had much luck with that either. I tired installing my Belkin USb wireless network adapter and hooking it up but had no luck. Or you can go to ebay and buy a xbox 360 wireless adapter for half the price instead of $100.

A. Sorry, friend. The evil men (and women) at Microsoft have made our lives hell by denying us access to any add-ons to their 360 console exept ones they made. This includes wi-fi, hard drives, headsets, all the computer stuff you could normally find in your house but has been made redundant by Microsoft. It is a monopoly and should not be allowed. Same for the Apple Store. Sorry for my little rant there. I hope I'm not upsetting the community guidelines...

Instead Of Buying Microsoft's 100 dollar USB adapter for xbox 360, can I just buy a wireless access point???
Q. I'm looking into buying this product and I was wondering if it will work with my xbox 360. Instead of buying the 100 dollar USB wireless Ethernet adapter and when I use it, I want to know if I will still have a open nat like my wired connection.
Asked by fasian77 - Mon Dec 3 23:39:13 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Disregard what the answerers above say. As this is not a USB device that needs control by the Xbox, you can buy this device and connect it to the 360 with an ethernet cord. The Xbox will still think its connected to a (slow) wired ethernet network, while the device will "translate" your network wirelessly to your WLAN router. So, yes you can use the device. And if it is really able to emulate a client as the description says, your NAT status will also not change.

Xbox 360 Wireless USB Adapter?
Q. Ok, so I recently bought a Wireless Netgear WPN824 router and a Netgear WPN111 USB adapter hoping to be able to connect to Xbox Live. I realized that I need a new adapter because it is not compatible with the Xbox 360. Does anyone have a suggestion of a good (or decent) and cheap wireless USB adapter that is compatible with my Xbox 360 and wireless router? Thanks.
